Yunhui- Ethical Dilemmas

Offending or distasteful content is insulting the other parties. Even how bad the incident can be, journalist should not include any profanities, they should try to rephrase them into better sounding and formal words. Furthermore, people will not want to read an article full of profanities, it could also bring discomfort to some others. One example is that a journalist writes about an article concerning this company that actually cheated many people of their money, including his. Therefore, he was very angry and included in many profanities in his article.

Commitment to accuracy is making sure that a source is accurate and reliable before obtaining information from it. People will want to read the most updated and accurate news. Even if a certain journalist is not the first to post an article regarding some matter,
accuracy is the most important. What is the use of getting first but giving people the wrong information? All it takes to ruin a journalist’s reputation is one inaccurate article. One example is that a journalist is writing an article on bacteria, something foreign to him, so he went to search on google, and clicked on the first link, which appears to be wikipedia.  From there, he obtained information and wrote an article. This may be inaccurate as anyone can edit the information on the wikipedia site, which makes it unreliable.

Bias is to side your own party and writing in your own perspectives. This is being unfair to the others. Everyone is the same and should be treated equally with respect regardless of race or religion. Everyone has different perspectives and thoughts about believing in their own religion, and it is not wrong at all to do that. Example, a journalist, a chinese, had to write a review of his colleagues in the company. He wrote all the good points about his chinese colleagues, while giving all the bad points about his other colleagues who are of different races.
