Informal letter writing vs. formal letter writing

Comment the differences between informal letter writing and formal letter writing.

  4. Salutations differ between formal and informal letters. Informal letters' salutations would be rather cheery and casual, such as "love" or "cheers". For formal letters, it has a more serious and sincere tone, with phrases such as "yours sincerely" and "best regards".

    Informal letters are sent to someone you know pretty well, like your friends or your parents.

  11. Informal letters are written to people whom you may know quite a lot(for example, your parents or your friends) and it may not be formal, it might be casual. However, a formal letter is written to a person who you may be new to or whom to you might not be as casual as your friends or your parents.It must be formal and not be casual.

  12. Formal letters are usually written to people of higher authority and importance. While informal letters are mainly written to family and close friends. Formal letters are usually for serious matters and are very direct about what is written in the message. Whereas in informal letters, it is more of a way for people to catch up and communicate. Informal letters are also usually more laid back than that of formal letters.

  14. Formal letters are used when you are writing to someone of a certain importance, important enough to warrant use of such formalities. Informal letters are written to some whom you can afford to be familiar with, decided by the circumstances and purpose of the letter

  17. Formal letters are usually polite, respectful, purposeful , direct and written in the style of a business letter. Informal letters often contain slang and the words used are not as polite and respectful as the words used in a formal letter.
